Welcome to JW Heldermon Photography's new blog page!!!
Just an FYI, I will be changing my pricing up soon. So, if you are thinking about ordering something or trying to get a session with me, I would wait because my prices are going DOWN! I have invested in new equipment that allows me to do more of the finishing work here and saves me money. So, it's going to save you money too! Prices will probably be changing in July. Stay tuned!
Ok, so the post says new art, that's not entirely true. I photographed most of these images in late November, so by that it's not so new. However, I did just get these touched up and printed. I will be taking them up to the Nescatunga Art Festival this Saturday. It will be held on the square unless it rains (hopefully). If that happens they will move it indoors. We could all use more rain around here, so I'll gladly go inside for that! There's quite a few images in this post so be patient.

I was getting ready to go to a workshop this weekend and wanted to share some of my candidates for the art show tomorrow evening. I didn't realize it until looking through them again I had a soft and fluffy theme going on. Each of these 4 is actually soft/fluffy or the way I created the image makes it appear soft. Enjoy!
I took this during one of the snows we had in February this year. The wind was miserable, but we had just enough snow to get what I was looking for.
"Foggy Morning Duke, Oklahoma"
This is a slight re-edit of a previous picture. The more I looked at it the more I knew it just wasn't finished yet.
My middle son brought me this flower one day and it was so beautiful. All of it was so delicate and soft and it was even one of my favorite colors.
"Isn't She The Cutest Thing!"
Now this lady/gent was at the Abilene Zoo in Texas. Our boys got the giggly delight of feeding them crackers that the zoo staff sold. I never imagined a giraffe's tongue would be black! BTW the title is referring to what the giraffe's thinking about us as well!

It's been a while since I posted anything, who knew getting settled again after living somewhere 10 years would be so time consuming. We are still working on the house & studio, slowly but surely. It's been an adjustment for all of us. I haven't stopped taking photographs though. Here are some of the latest images that I've had printed for the Hobart Chamber of Commerce Art Show this weekend. If you happen to be in the area, it is Saturday the 11th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop by and say "HI!" There should be some cool items and Mother's Day is Sunday.
Female Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
She was so pretty & posing for me. Unusual for a bird & me to get along.
Oklahoma's state reptile, the Mountain Boomer (Collared) Lizard
This one took a while to get. Let's just say we stared at each other for a good long time. I gave up first & was able to get this image as we came back by his home.
Texas' State Reptile Horny Toad (Horned Lizard)
We actually saw two of these little guys. I just think he was adorable!
Now moving on to something less cute....
Two views of a fairly young Western Diamondback Rattler.
I felt so brave...if it would have been a bit warmer, I wouldn't have been.
He had 6 rattles & was probably about 3 foot long.
Anyone want to buy a church? This one is for sale in town. I took this late last year & just loved the clouds. I did not add color to this one, they were just that gorgeous!
Outside Duke, Oklahoma
I have been eyeing this tree since we moved from Lone Wolf, but had to wait until we had a thick fog to get the image I wanted. Makes me think of fairy tales.
1964 Ford Mustang
I wanted to do this one for our game room. I did quite a bit of Photoshop work to give it a antiqued feel that goes with our decor.

Oklahoma School of Photography is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, & with that they are holding an art festival in Moore. It will be on Saturday September 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here is a link to their site, & here is the flyer....

Well, it's finally arrived, we will be headed to our new location this week. It's going to be hot doing this, that's for certain! I'm excited though, I will have a larger studio area connected yet separate from the rest of the house. I'm going to be hard to get in touch with for a few weeks though going back & forth & back & forth! (YUCK!) Email is probably your best bet for a while. Thank you to those around Lone Wolf that I had the pleasure of photographing. I will still be available. I look at it as not leaving the area, just expanding the territory.
We had a nice time at the Picture My Weekend in Alva. The front page Alva's newspaper printed a photo my husband took last year during the workshop. One of my pictures won the themed My Town contest. I led 4 sessions & found out that I like teaching fundamentals of photography, but trying to explain how I do what I do without thinking about it is hard. I was able to see my parents for a little while as well, so overall, a good weekend.
New location is:
819 W. C St.
Eldorado, Oklahoma 73537
Phone number will stay the same as well as email & website.

So, after talking with several people, I decided to create a shorter email address as well as a shorter URL. I'm hoping this will make your life easier as well as mine. The final straw was trying to give my URL over the phone one day. The lady was having a hard time hearing me & we had to go through the URL several times. I'm still unsure if she was able to hear all of it, one of us may have just given up! I also recently created a QR code, I was so excited to learn how to do this & felt so accomplished after it actually worked!
Both of these are co not com, which was already taken.
